What are my De-stressors?

Standard

I chanced upon an old LiveJournal meme from years ago, and I’m posting it here for you all to see.

What are the things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play? What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list and post it on your journal.

Gaaaah what a cutie. Image from http://drdietright.com

Recharge

Standard

Why yes. (Photo from TheResurgence.com)

All my devices are charging now. I find it interesting how each of them ended up losing battery power all at the same time.

Even the computer is charging as I type.

Something as mundane, routinary, and ordinary as this made me realize something.

Much like these devices, WE also need recharging. We need to quiet our souls and rest. If these machines can wear out because of overuse, well, tayo pa kaya?

May each of us do just that, in this extended holiday. To recharge, rest, and be quiet again. To plug in to the real Source of power. :)

Happy Holy Week! :D

Back in the game!

Standard

I was thinking of creating a blog series about my three-day rest, but . . . we’ll see if it still materializes or not. ;) Haha.

I’m glad to be back to work today. As soon as I set foot on my desk, various envelopes and papers welcomed me back. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the sight! I kinda wish I took a photo of it though.

Noooo, this is not what my desk looked like.

Noooo, this is not what my desk looked like.

I’m going back to the doctor tomorrow to have my head checked. No, I am not kidding when I say that. I just had minor surgery on my scalp and my doctor’s asking for a follow-up, so I’ll get that done tomorrow. Awesomely enough, a friend’s having their baby checked at the same hospital I’ll be going to, so they offered me a ride going there. Yay!

Anyway, I’ll be going back to work now. My lunch break is over and I have stuff to finish.

Man, I really missed working! :D

// PS: Thank you to everyone who prayed for me! :) Surely, you’ll be refreshed as you’ve refreshed others!

A Long-ish (but Eventful) Weekend

Standard

Today will yet another be a busy day, and I’m glad—SO GLAD!—I got to take a rest yesterday. Well, except for a few unexpected events, I was able to rest and recharge. :D

Yesterday I spent most of my day online, reading blogs and catching up with people. I meant to fix up my Google Reader and Twitter lists, but my internet connection didn’t allow me to get this done. I guess even my OC streak needed to take a rest haha.

We’ll be having a party with a few of the writers, photographers, graphic artists, and web designers who signed up at our church’s Communications Ministry, fof which I’m part of. (what a long sentence that was!) Our party’s theme is wearing funky hats, shades, or headgear. Hopefully I can get to post some photos of the event. :D I’m looking forward to touch base with them and have fun!

I was tasked to do Logistics for the party, so I gotta be there early. :D

And then after that we’ll be having a movie night at home with my friends. :D Heeee! This is gonna be fun.

sunday lovely sunday

sunday lovely sunday
woke up at six in the morning, even if i slept at one. yes, friends, my body clock has been fine-tuned that way, and i like it. i love how it’s so quiet and peaceful in the morning (in our house, especially), how i wake up to chirping birds, and how the occasional cold breeze wafts through my room.
since i had a lot to do that day, i decided to attend the 9 am service at our church. i don’t do it very often, but for some reason i was looking forward to it–and now, i’m grateful i got to attend service that early. :) methinks i’ll be attending the morning service more regularly now.
when i got home from church, i cooked spaghetti, and ended up putting too much pepper on it. LOL! i could hardly eat because of its highly spicy qualities :(
after lunch i did some major cleaning on my room. truth be told, tidying up is quite therapeutic for me. for some reason the process of cleaning, wiping, sweeping, and scrubbing relaxes me. haha! i’ve made numerous comments about this on my other social networks, and in return my friends have asked me to clean their houses for them. i’m closing my doors now, too, so don’t expect a positive response from me on this one :P
i wrapped my new books in plastic after the room overhaul. it’s another seemingly boring thing that i like doing. i tend to be OC when it comes to wrapping my books. as i write this i’m racking my brain trying to explain why i like doing it, and i realize just now that we don’t really have to explain why we like certain things all the time! anyway, i received a bunch of new books for my birthday, from myself and other people, save for the one book i won in a contest :) here they are:
a tagalog bible
a tagalog-english dictionary
a pink (!!!!!!) campus 121 booklet
the grand weaver – ravi zacharias
this present darkness – frank peretti
how to understand the bible correctly – william girao
the bible jesus read – philip yancey
do hard things – alex and brett harris
i’m really excited to read all of them! :)
after bookwrapping, i grabbed dinner, tried an oreo hot fudge sunday for the first time, and read a book. nothing really fantastic there, but i love the fact that i had so much accomplished then, and i felt it was a fitting way to end the day.
thankfully the vaykay is over, and we’re all back to regular programming :D
